When a gadget is connected to a battery, a reaction occurs that creates electrical energy. We are the GADGETS, connected by the Holy Spirit to the “battery”, which is Scripture, and the “electrical energy” created is our faith put into action! Bring your children for dinner or join us at 6:00 p.m. as GADGETS begins. Each Wednesday children will enjoy 3 thirty minute rotations:
• Recreation
• Music
• Living Energy

With the hurried pace we’ve created for ourselves, allow yourself to slow down on Wednesday evenings and enjoy an extended time for dinner. The children and youth will begin their activities at 6:00 p.m. while the adults continue to enjoy dinner and fellowship in Spring Hall until 6:30 p.m. before beginning their chosen activity. Small groups
(approximately 10 people per group) will be formed to enable the building of relationships within this community of faith. Multiple groups can be formed for these studies. Sign up today in the coffee gathering area.
• Bible Study on James
• Life Application: Finding Balance in Your Life

In addition to the above small group opportunities, these activities will also be offered for the adults:
• Craft Time
• Chill Room for Adults– Enjoy a comfortable, relaxed setting with coffee and free wi-fi. Take time to RELAX.

    Worship Exploration

This hands-on experience is offered to encourage young children's participation in and understanding of worship while guiding them in their own worship experience.

On the second and fourth Sundays of each month during both worship services, leaders guide the children in exploring worship during the “Children’s Time."  In addition, children five years of age, as well as those in kindergarten and first grade, may attend the Worship Exploration in room 108 downstairs.  During the enrichment  time, children leave the sanctuary with the leaders to encounter and praise God in a setting created just for them.

Faith in Action Mission Day Camp

Faith in Action Mission Day Camp is a summer ministry for children that have completed first through fifth grades, and it takes place right here at Tinkling Spring!  In five action packed days children will have an opportunity to serve their community through service projects and enjoy growing in their faith!

Children will learn how they can make a difference, not just during camp, but every day of their lives as they take Jesus’ love and kindness into their relationships with others. In addition to providing morning service projects, the day camp will offer singing and worship, stories from God’s Word, recreation, crafts, and cooking.  Come join us as we have a great time serving the Lord!  In 2012,  we are excited to offer two incredible opportunities to choose from. July 9-13 or July 30-August 3. Choose the camp session that works best for your family.

Early Bird Registration $25 (April 3-24)
Regular Registration $35 (AFTER April 24)

Children at the Lord’s Supper Class

In this hands-on class, parents and children will explore together the meaning and importance of the Lord's supper. The meaning  and importance of the Lord’s Supper is more than we can grasp through words alone.  It is no wonder that we approach the preparation of our children for the Lord’s Table very seriously.  As a family of faith, we seek to provide the means of education and ongoing nurture for children and their families in preparing for participation in the Lord’s Supper.

Children in second-fifth grade are invited to participate in the Children at the Lord’s Supper Class.  Download the 2011 Brochure & Parent Letter.

Confirmation Class

A Confirmation class is provided for the eighth grade students to prepare them to become new members of the church.  The class meets from September through May during the Sunday school hour and is taught by Harriet Thompson and April Cranford.  All students are matched  with a present or former elder to be their covenant partner. Students and their covenant partners enjoy various mission and social gathering throughout the year. In their year together, class members learn what they believe about God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, original sin, eternal life, the church, mission, stewardship, spiritual gifts, and how to live out their faith. On the last Sunday of the class, at the 11:00 a.m. worship service, the participants celebrate the confirmation of their faith in Jesus Christ and become active members of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church.

2012 Confirmation Class runs from October 3 through June 3

Join the Confirmation class on their 31 Day Jesus Challenge.  Read the Bible and a devotion each day which takes less than 5 minutes of your day.  Reflect on the readings on how to apply them to your life.  Download the  pdf devotional here.
