Peggy Hacket, Teacher Assistant
Hi! I'm known as Miss Peggy, Mrs. Smith's teaching assistant. I joined the staff of Tinkling Spring Preschool in the fall of 2008, shortly after moving to Fishersville from Louisa County, Va. In December, 2007, I retired from the Spotslyvania Department of Social Services. This move to Augusta County was initiated by my son-in-law, who had an opportunity to return to the county where he was born and raised, and where his family currently lives. My daughter, Jill, (mother of my only grandchild, Ben) and I think this move was meant to be. We both sold our homes and moved into our present homes all within thirty days. I also have a son, Bill, who lives in Charlottesville. The move placed me closer to him as well.
I graduated from Concordia Jr. College in Bronxville, NY, with an Associate's Degree in Applied Arts and Sciences in 1962 at the age of nineteen. My employment history includes ten years in the Research and Development Division of Fairchild Republic Corporation as an executive secretary, eleven years at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, NY, as an administrative assistant to the Director of Laboratories, and finally over ten years as a senior elegibility worker for the Department of Social Services in Spotsylvania, Va.
I thoroughly enjoy my time here at Tinkling Spring. The children, their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. as well as the wonderful and talented staff, bring increased happiness and knowledge to me each and every day I'm here.

Nancy Deitz, Substitute Teacher
I have been married to my husband, Emerson, for fifty-three years. We have raised five sons who are all married and have given us thirteen grandchildren.
I worked for Staunton City Schools for twenty-five years, and have continued to substitute in the city and county elementary schools. I have periodically substituted at the Tinkling Spring Preschool for three years. I have also worked in, taught, or had a leadership role in elementary church school classes for fifty-eight years. I was a Cub Scout Den Mother for each of our boys and worked in scouting with the children for over fifteen years.
In the fall of 2009, I did a long-term substitution here at the preschool and then was hired as the Assistant in the two, four year-old classes.
Helping a child to be the best they can be and develop a love of learning has always been a passion of mine. I have been very blessed to continue working with children even as a "senior citizen."

Harriet Thompson, Bible Teacher
Tinkling Spring Preschool is very near and dear to my heart. My husband, Greg, and I sent both of our children, Morgan and Devon, to this preschool. I volunteered in their classrooms and came on staff as a teacher’s assistant and then as a teacher for the 3 year old class. God blessed me with five wonderful years in the preschool classroom. In May 2002, I accepted the call to serve as the Director of Christian Education for Tinkling Spring Church. This call brought me back to the preschool as the Bible teacher. Every week brings new discoveries as the children encounter God’s love and creation through scripture, art, music, games and prayer.
I am currently working on the completion of a B.A. in Religion at Mary Baldwin College. My most enjoyable moments are spent with my family, which now includes a precious grandson, Juan Michael. I look forward to the time when he will be enrolled in this preschool.
Tinkling Spring Preschool is an integral part of the overall ministry of the church. I pray you and your child will experience the joy of learning and love of Christ as you partner with us in nurturing the whole child.
