Sunday School for adults, youth, and children will resume on Genesis Sunday, September 12, at 9:00 a.m.

Teaching Children Worship in the Sanctuary
Sundays, September 19 – December 19

During worship on Genesis Sunday, September 12, we will resume calling forward children for the Children’s Time. The following Sunday we’ll begin talking about the purpose and practice of each part of worship during the Children’s Time and this time will occur just before the act of worship we will learn about that day. Children ages 4 years through first grade will have the opportunity to learn more about the act of worship through a lesson each week outside of the sanctuary, from September 19 through December 19. Following the lesson they will return to their families in worship. An activity sheet to be used in worship will be provided during the Children’s Time for those in second grade and older.

In addition to learning about worship in the sanctuary, families with children will find the following worship tools available:

  • Children’s Bulletin at each sanctuary entrance.
  • A Welcome to Worship Card in the pew racks that provides helpful information and guidance for your family and the congregation.
  • Pew Cards in the pew racks with images of worship items in the sanctuary, along with descriptions of how each item is used.

The Fun Days scheduled for Monday, September 20, and Monday, October 11, will not take place due to the significant increase of COVID-19 positivity rates in  Augusta County. We will assess the conditions of the community in October to discern if a Fun Day can take place on November 3. The Adult & Children’s Christian Education Ministry Team
